You like the actress and activist, but will you like her coffee? Angelina Jolie launched her café at Atelier Jolie in Noho for a collaboration with Eat OffBeat, a food organization that hires refugees.
Angelina Jolie is entering the world of catering… but for a good cause. By partnering with the food organization Eat Offbeat, which offers world cuisine and promotes the work of refugees, the café aims to be open to the world and engaged. A natural collaboration for the former goodwill ambassador and special envoy of the United Nations Refugee Agency. The café offers the opportunity to taste dishes with Latin American, Syrian or even Senegalese influences but also to discover the designers hosted by theJolie Workshop.
Atelier Jolie, a creative community in Basquiat’s studio
The café is located in the heart of Atelier Jolie, a space opened by the actress in a place rich in significance, the home and studio of Jean-Michel Basquiat, at 57 Great Jones Street, in Noho, in the South of Manhattan. Angelina Jolie also declared at its opening in September 2023: “We hope to create a community of creativity and inspiration, regardless of socio-economic background. We’ll highlight the people who play a role in each creation. We will bring together a diverse team, including apprenticeships for refugees and other talented and underappreciated groups, with positions of dignity based on competence. By working with artisans and creators from around the world, we hope to help share the richness of their cultural heritage and support the development of their own businesses.”
