Although the actress does not really want to go into detail, she does call the incident with Weinstein abuse. “It was more than just making advances. It was something I had to avoid. I stayed away and warned people about him. I told Jonny Lee Miler, my first husband, to tell others, ‘Don’t let girls be alone with him.’”

Jolie was later offered another offer to star in a Weinstein film, but turned it down. “I said no because he was involved. I never associated myself with him again, nor did I work with him anymore. It was hard for me when Brad did,” referring to the movie Inglourious Basterds from 2009 which was co-produced by Weinstein’s company.
Later, Pitt approached the producer himself again for a collaboration, this time for the thriller Killing Them Softly from 2012. This made Jolie feel that her husband was downplaying the abuse she had experienced. “We argued about it, of course it hurt.”
