The chaotic struggle over the property of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt after their divorce is finally over. After 7 years, their wine estate problem in France has finally been resolved.
Previously, it was reported that Brad Pitt accused Angelina Jolie of making sales that were claimed without Brad Pitt’s knowledge.
The sale concerns their winery called Château Miraval Winery in France. In 2008, they bought the winery for US $ 28.4 million or the equivalent of Rp. 407 billion (exchange rate of Rp. 14,362).
Brad Pitt reports that his ex-wife has sold their winery to another party out of “revenge”. However, in court documents that were revealed recently, Angelina is said to have agreed to mediate to settle the lawsuit.
According to Yahoo Entertainment, Angelina Jolie wrote to him in a letter in 2021. In the letter, he mentioned that it would be too ‘painful’ for him to continue in an alcohol-centric business.
As Mother knows, the conflict between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has become one of the most controversial divisions in Hollywood history. The couple’s 11-year relationship exploded after a fight that took place on a private jet in 2016, during which Jolie claimed Pitt was drunk and assaulted her verbally and physically in the presence of children.
Regarding this business, Brad Pitt has agreed to give Angelina Jolie US $ 54.5 million or IDR 831 billion for her share of the business in 2021.
However, the deal was thwarted by the ongoing custody proceedings. In legal documents, Angelina Jolie asserts that after she filed paperwork to prove her allegations of harassment of Pitt, she countered in the Miraval case by seeking a non-derogatory clause, which she called an ‘absurd joke’.
Brad Pitt later denied that such clauses were standard in business agreements, that Jolie was “punishing” him for a May 2021 custody ruling that was judged in his favour.
At the same time, Pitt claimed that Jolie was “secretly negotiating” to sell shares of the wine business to someone else.
Last October 2021, Brad Pitt admitted that he was shocked when a subsidiary of the Stoli Group run by Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler announced that they had become co-owners of Miraval.
The 59-year-old actor then filed two lawsuits to stop the sale of what he sees as a conspiracy led by Jolie to cause harm, Mother.
This conflict resolution is called making Brad Pitt ‘win a lot’. Check it out on the next page.
