Fashion event this spring: the artistic director of Chanel Virginie Viard presented this Monday the cruise collection of the House in Baux-de-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône). For the occasion, a parade was organized in the open air at the Carrières de Lumières – a listed natural site – and without an audience, pandemic obliges.
A symbolic choice, since this is where Jean Cocteau, who was a friend of Coco Chanel, shot The Testament of Orpheus with Jean Marais.
Angela takes over Britney Spears
This cruise collection presented essentially black and white silhouettes in a rock spirit: fringes, leather, tights and smoky eyes.
The surprise arrived on the sidelines of the parade, when Angèle and Sébastien Tellier shared the stage for an acoustic cover of Baby One More Time de Britney Spears.
The electro musician and the Belgian singer were not the only artists to animate the event. Sébastien Tellier was also joined in turn by Juliette Armanet, Vanessa Paradis and Charlotte Casiraghi. All the singers then gathered to accompany him on his title Fingers of Steel.
The next Chanel show is due to take place at the Palais Galliera, in Paris, next July. Until then, the fashion world hopes to once again be able to welcome the public to present its collections.
