Guest of the show Sept à Huit this Sunday, February 20, the singer Angèle spoke again of her forced coming-out when a people magazine revealed stolen photos of her and her partner in 2020.
An episode of her life that she did not live very well, she confided in the show. And for good reason: her relatives do not know that she is in a relationship with a woman.
“It’s a bit of a cold shower”she confided. “I expected a love story with a woman to make noise, even today unfortunately. But there, I tell myself that it’s the step too much in fact. Ouh there, we enter my intimacy'”.
The singer also confided that these revelations were very difficult for her to live with. “Beyond revealing the love story that I am living, I found it extremely violent. It is also very serious in what it represents, in what it sends as a message. Because “There was a form of hypocrisy. We think it’s great, we’re for LGBT people but removing someone against their will is absolutely not a pro-LGBT approach, I think.”
She also says that she filed a complaint against the magazine and won her case. “We won and I donated the money to associations”she said again.
Angèle of course had the opportunity to talk about her bisexuality with her parents and her brother. She admits to being very lucky with the openness of her family: “I was very lucky because I come from a very open-minded family. In fact, we realize that even in very open-minded families, it remains a subject whereas in In fact, it’s not one. My parents are very caring and above all, they don’t care who I fall in love with. But I told them and it lasted 30 seconds. They were delighted to meet her “she concluded.
