BERLIN – Barely a day after Angela Merkel gave all of Germany a heavy lockdown with the upcoming Easter party, the chancellor backed down reluctantly. The most experienced politician in Europe today turned 180 degrees and even openly asked for forgiveness in the German Bundestag. “This was only my fault,” she stammered. “Please forgive me.”
