Johan Derksen has been under fire for the past two weeks after he confessed to sexually transgressive behaviour. The football analyst said in the broadcast on April 26 that he had done something to a woman in the 1970s that he himself could “technically” be interpreted as “rape” by a prosecutor. Table mates René van der Gijp and Steven Brunswijk joked with Derksen in the broadcast.
The three presenters decided to stop the Today Inside program after the commotion about the confession. Today Derksen says against the AD that he will return. “In order to please all those people and to deprive all opponents of the impression that they have won, I am prepared to sit down again.”

So no surprise for TV critic Angela de Jong. “Of course we have heard this three times already. I just didn’t expect it to be next week, but in September, with the next season. This season ends on June 3. But since last weekend I heard from my colleague Dennis Jansen that the intention was to return on Monday.”
De Jong expects that the first broadcast will be viewed ‘very well’. “The supporters love it of course. I think retroactively, what have we looked at in recent weeks? If they had immediately apologized on Wednesday and said they had misjudged it, then it would have been done.”
She finds the role of TV producer Talpa strange. “If you first demand that they come up with an apology and want to assess whether that is credible and suddenly start running a week and a half later, then that is crazy. But the explanation is simple: they have lost their most watched program and have no alternative.”
