Angela Chao, Heiress of Shipping Company, Dies in Tragic Tesla Accident: Details Revealed

50-year-old Angela Chao, heiress of a large shipping company, died after accidentally driving a Tesla Model X into a pond. This was reported by the Bild in Russian telegram channel.

The tragedy occurred a month ago, but the details of the woman’s death became known only now.

On February 10, the businesswoman left with her friends, former Harvard classmates, to a ranch in Texas. There, Chao rented an estate three times the size of Central Park in New York. After dinner, the lady decided to visit her son in the main house. Since it was cold that day, she got into her Tesla Model X car, although she could walk in 4 minutes.

Chao wanted to turn around, writes the Wall Street Journal, but backed up too much and drove the car into a pond. The car began to sink, and the businesswoman began to call her friends in a panic.

Rescuers arrived on call after 24 minutes, by which time the Tesla was completely submerged.

“The requested diving team did not arrive for unknown reasons, and the plan to pull the car out of the pond failed due to the tow rope being too short. When rescuers finally pulled the car out of the water, Angela Chao was already dead,” sums up TK.
