Taking advantage of his vacation, García visits the country and comes to share a varied repertoire between his songs and popular music. The artist, who resides in the city of Posadas, Argentina, with his wife Amanda, who is also a singer, seeks to share with the public of Paraguay.

At a very young age, the artist ventured to Europe, with his guitar and in the company of his colleague Pedro Ortega, without thinking what destiny would bring him. Without realizing it, he was already playing and sharing with figures of the world jet set such as Sean Connery, Brigitte Bardot, Alain Delon, Astor Piazzolla, Aristotle Onassis, among many other names.
On one of those journeys, he crossed paths with Luis Alberto from Paraná, who offered him to be his first guitarist, thus becoming part of the group Los Paraguayos, which took Paraguayan music around the world.
“I went to Europe when I was very young, in ’67, and in ’71 I joined the Paraná group and we already went to Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, to tour throughout the Far East. Then we returned and continued performing throughout Europe until, unfortunately, Paraná left very young, when we were returning from a tour of the Soviet Union,” he recalled.
“The first time I went to Europe was by boat, together with Pedro, who unfortunately also left. It was 17 days of crossing, while we rehearsed a very different repertoire because we were very attached to folklore, but there you had to sing ‘Guantanamera’, ‘Cucurrucucú Paloma’, ‘When the sun warms’, a variety to be successful, which was the what Luis Alberto did, who opened the doors for all Paraguayans.”
García then continued with Reinaldo, brother of Luis Alberto, and later went to live in the United States, “where I worked with Jerry Lewis, a great actor, on the Merv Griffin show and with Sammy Davis Jr.”, he recalled.
Now, while enjoying a vacation in Paraguay, he expresses his happiness because “I already wanted my friends here to meet my children, who live in Buenos Aires, where they also work,” said García.
It should be noted that the director Marcos Martínez and the producer Pepe Salvia, both Argentines, are developing the documentary “Born in the Bajada Vieja”, about the life of Pato García, to portray “the movie life” that the musician led when developing his career.
