Andrzej Dąbrowski became famous not only as a performer of hits “Do kochania jeden krok” or “Bądź wiary sobie”. He was also known for his performances in Wojciech Karolak’s jazz trio. He also collaborated with Krzysztof Komeda, Michał Urbaniak and Urszula Dudziak, among others.

“As a drummer, I was a member of almost all the leading jazz groups in Poland. It happened that I went on tour with Michał Urbaniak’s band in Sweden and there I performed for the first time in a double role: drummer and vocalist,” he recalled the beginnings of his career in the book “Gwiazdy świeły nadal”.

Moreover, during his professional career he also fulfilled himself as a rally driver, photographer and journalist.

Andrzej Dąbrowski sang legendary Polish hits. The amount of his pension is surprising

In 2013, 2017 and 2018 he performed on the stage of the Opole amphitheater and since then he has performed rather sporadically. In 2022, the media reported that decided to return to studio due to a very low pension. Then he released the album “Andrzej Dąbrowski & All Stars”.

In an interview with se.pl, the singer said that he receives only PLN 1,200 in benefits. Two years have passed since then, so due to indexation, the artist’s pension may be slightly higher.

Despite his undeniable stage achievements, he has never played an anniversary concert. Despite many offers from the organizers, he decided that he did not want to perform at such events because he did not intend to “cash in” on his career.

— he said in the book “One Step to Madness”.

“I constantly receive offers of further concerts, requests for interviews, press articles appear about what has happened in my musical and car life. This whole commotion shows, in my opinion, that I am doing something good that people appreciate and that they remember me.” — he added.
