The President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, arrived at Kigali airport on Sunday, August 06, 2023, for a working visit to Rwanda.

He was welcomed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda, Doctor Vincent Biruta.

This visit by President Andry Rajoelina follows the one that President Paul Kagame and Mrs. Jeannette Kagame made to Madagascar on June 26, 2019 where they attended the celebration of the 59th anniversary of the return of Madagascar’s independence and were the main guests of the event.

Madagascar regained its independence on June 26, 1960, after having been colonized by France since August 6, 1896.
