The president of PASOK – Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, attended the anniversary event for the National Resistance in Ramni, Apokoronou municipality.
Referring to the brave resistance of the people of Crete, during his short greeting, he emphasized, among other things, that “we are keeping the memory alive so that it can be passed on to the next generations. And I say this because we are not politically neutral. Our actions are what define us nationally, patriotically, ideologically,” he said.
“That is why, with respect for the struggles of the Greek people against Nazism, we took the initiative to submit a memorandum fifteen days ago, so that the praisers of Nazism and Hitler, the remnants of the Golden Dawn, would not participate in the elections”, the president of PASOK pointed out.
“No cooperation with the extreme right”
Nikos Androulakis made a special reference to the initiative of the European Socialist Party a few days ago, which was co-signed by the European Left, the Liberals and the Greens.
“No cooperation after the June 9 European elections with the extreme right at the level of the European Parliament. Unfortunately, this initiative was not co-signed by the European People’s Party”, he underlined.
“We want a Europe of the solidarity of the peoples and not a Europe of the Franco-German axis. That is why we must participate in these democratic processes, so that we determine our future and not others determine it,” said the president of PASOK, referring to the importance of the upcoming European elections.
