Andros Be Nuts gains popularity
It’s a launch that has borne fruit (or its legumes). Since the launch of Be Nuts in 2023, the product has conquered the market : just two months after its release, rotations of creamy Be Nuts matched those of Mengys, the market leader. As for the crunchy version, it had taken the lead in the crunchy peanut butter segment[1]. Andros was not mistaken: peanut butter is attracting consumers and the legume is gaining its reputation in France.
Peanut butter at Burger King
From October 8 until January 6, 2025, Burger King is offering a version of its King Fusion frozen dessert with Andros Be Nuts peanut butter: vanilla ice cream, topped with a Be Nuts topping and peanut pieces grilled. This variation is added to that of Nutella®, Lion®, M&M’s® or even Maltesers® Caramel. It is therefore the only non-chocolate option, but also the only topping from a French company.
This is not the first time that Andros Be Nuts has collaborated with Burger King. As a hint of their future collaborationthe restaurant brand opted for Andros peanut butter in a very limited edition burger, from June 8 to 10
We take stock of the nutrition side
Peanut butter has a healthier image than chocolate spreads and treats among consumers, what about the nutritional quality of the offer?
If we stick to the energy value and quantity of fatit is the Be Nuts variation which displays the highest values and for good reason: lipids represent approximately 50% of peanut butter, and this macronutrient is rich in calories (9 kcal/g of lipids compared to 4 kcal/g for carbohydrates and proteins). However, it should be noted that, in the King Fusion Be Nuts, 2/3 of lipids are unsaturated fatty acidsmainly oleic acid (main fatty acid in olive oil) and linoleic acid, essential fatty acidbecause these are the major fatty acids in peanut butter.
On the other hand, King Fusion Be Nuts has almost twice as much protein as the chocolate offers and above all 7 to 9 g less sugars !
One launch can hide another
The two peanut butters launched last year are popular because they are easy to spread and have a smooth texture. However, some consumers may have regretted that the product was not only made from legumes. Andros heard them and launched at SIAL 2024 a 100% peanut versionrather recommended for cooking recipes, but which should delight those looking for more naturalness.
