The Easter holidays have just ended, so the summer holidays are no longer far away. Although the festival summer of 2024 has yet to kick off, the end promises to be a blast. Pukkelpop seems to be heading for a hopelessly sold-out edition, with only day tickets available for Sunday, August 18. Last month, the organization in Kiewit expanded the bill by adding The Kills, Pommelien Thijs, Miles Kane, Dimension and 29 other acts. Now it follows the same pattern, but with 34 acts, with each stage spread over the weekend – with the temporary exception of Thursday – something tasty to be found.
Andromedik turned the Trix into its own house party last weekend. On Friday, August 16, he will make the Boiler boil over with his heavy drum and bass beats. That same day we can continue to groove at Artemas (currently found everywhere with his hit “i like the way you kiss me“) in Dizzee Rascal. However, for those who want something more melodic and deep, offer Cellini (live), Snow She and the Will Project relief. Flange in MCR-T are between both worlds, but they also know how to organize an alternative party. We are eagerly looking forward to some crackling guitar work SLIFT. This French psychedelic rock band has previously rocked the Ancienne Belgique, and that will be no different at the Backyard. Due to other tour commitments, Denzel Curry unfortunately remains in the United States.
On Saturday we will again see a top Belgian DJ in the Boiler: Amber Broos. She is accompanied by the Dutch trance techno queen KI/KI. Kevin de Vries represents the Berlin scene. For other international genres we can look closer to home on the 17th. JAZZ NONE, Little Crack & Butcher in Blck Mamba each explore the basic principles of hip hop in their own way. Only does the same for the singer-songwriter genre, albeit with a slightly more commercial touch. Indie rock fans can enjoy the rising stars English Teacher, New West, Wunderhorse in Grandson. The party starts on the Main Stage with Fastin Meg10 will make the booth shake.
Guitars blare on Sunday! The Backyard is overrun by the ripping riffs of Hot Milk, Jesus Piece in MSPAINT. We focus on the warmer sounds Glass Beams in Future Utopia. Without a doubt, there will be more dancing and sweating to the music of Becky Hill, Channel Tres and our own Bolis Pupul. The dancing party on Sunday is provided by Ahahadream, Aunt Seck, DEBBY Friday in I. Jordan. Through these 34 acts, Pukkelpop clearly shows what has surpassed the charts this club season. Both all-round music lovers and specific genre seekers and/or atmosphere visitors are well served. Doubters no longer have to hesitate to travel to Kiewit at least on Sunday.
