Previously, Android did not have too many adaptation functions for large-screen devices such as tablets. Until the gradual popularity of folding screen devices in recent years, Android has gradually added some functions to improve the operating experience of large-screen devices, and it was not until Android 12 that Android 12 L was launched. It is designed for tablets or large-screen devices.
Recently, @MishaalRahman discovered a native function called ROLE_NOTES by digging deeply into the Android 14 system, which allows some applications to call SDK 34 to take notes.
Here’s a first look at Android 14’s new notetaking feature for styluses👀 🖊️📓
In this video, I first launch the default notes app from a lock screen shortcut, then I unlock the device, press the stylus tail button to launch the notes app in a bubble, and insert a screenshot. pic.twitter.com/SIMmcl6Ouh

After this feature is turned on and an app is selected as the default note-taking app, the note-taking app can be launched directly on the lock screen, and a screenshot shortcut can be set to insert the screenshot directly into the note.
In addition, if the user is equipped with a stylus, after pressing the interaction button, Android 14 can display the note application in the floating window.
To enable this function, you need to open Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Notes App, and then select the default Notes App.
