Android 12 seems to get digital trash for deleted files. Is something needed?

Android 12 will be released sharply later this year and the gang at XDA Developers continues to delve into the developer version code to look for upcoming features. Previously, we found out that the new Android version comes with better privacy control, improved one-handed mode and of course some new design as well as improved navigation options. Now XDA Developers has found more stuff and this time it’s a more present version of a digital trash can.

The new trash can in Android seems to work as on computers. In the trash, files you have recently deleted are stored on the phone and you quickly find out how much space these take up on the phone and give you the opportunity to clean up directly. The trash can be useful if you are a little careless with the deletion, but in addition to deleting your photos and videos in gallery apps that already have similar trash cans, it does not feel really necessary to have an overall trash can for the phone.

Incidentally, there is already a similar feature in Android 11 that developers can implement in their apps, but this has been used quite sporadically. With Android 12, it seems that the feature will be implemented in the operating system.
