Andrey Rublev Fails to Reach Australian Open Semi-finals, Losing to Jannik Sinner

Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev failed to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open, which takes place in Melbourne.

Rublev, who received the fifth seed, lost to the Italian Jannik Sinner (4) in the quarter finals with a score of 4:6, 6:7 (5:7), 3:6. The meeting lasted 2 hours 39 minutes.

The Russian has never reached the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament, and for 26-year-old Rublev this is his 10th defeat at the quarterfinal stage.

Sinner is 22 years old. The Italian will compete with the world number one, Serbian Novak Djokovic, for reaching the final of the Australian Open.
