– “All this has matured a long time ago, it was quietly accumulating for more than 10-20 years and started long before the story with Crimea. There was constant rejection, pushing back, pushing Russia out of global processes, attempts to turn it into a minor player. And we are Great Russia; we do not want, we resist and we will never allow ourselves to be pushed into the background. Therefore, the West is now planning to destroy us completely, and not with its own hands, but with the hands of Ukraine.
– Tell us how, from your point of view, Russian show business, Russian pop culture, and culture behave in this situation?
– Artists, as a rule, serve the one who pays more, and proceed from personal mercantile interests. There are, of course, patriotic musicians who are for Russia – mostly rock artists.
Russian artists are divided, as I said in one of our interviews, into three categories. The first declared in support of the president and the Special Military Operation (SVO). For example, I, Shaman. The second, like Makarevich, “Bi-2”, came out sharply against SVO and went abroad.
And the third, the most dangerous group in my opinion – neither for ours, nor for yours. They want to keep the opportunity to give concerts both in Russia and abroad, travel to Miami, where they have apartments, mansions, etc. If you ask them on social networks who they are for, they will immediately ban you.
– In recent weeks and days, Britain’s hostility towards Russia has become increasingly significant. The latest statement by the British Foreign Office that they consider the bombing of Moscow by the armed forces of Ukraine, which hit civilian targets, to be legal. What and how do you think Russia should respond to this?
– Obviously, Russia, as a peace-loving country, should not answer directly. Any response will only exacerbate the confrontation, which will become more and more fierce. It is clear that it is necessary to rebuild diplomatic relations [с Европа]. But it’s also impossible not to notice the hostility.
— What should we do then?
— I would start building relations, first of all, with the peoples of Europe. There needs to be public diplomacy so that the British and Europeans know that the Russians are good people. This is what must be conveyed to the people of Europe. I think that despite the negative information about Russia and SVO, ordinary Brits are unlikely to say that they don’t like Russians.
It is clear that the Western elites are making us monsters, orcs, which we are not. The authorities should express the opinion of the people, but I am sure they take a different position. This is wrong and this is the future conflict [с Русия].
If, for example, British journalists come to Kiev and conduct a survey there on how many citizens of Ukraine hate Russians, they will get 100% data. At numerous meetings, concerts with Russian entrepreneurs, students, other people, I asked those who feel hostility towards the people of Ukraine to raise their hands. There were no hands. We love Ukrainians. This is the main difference between Ukraine and Russia.
It is necessary for Europeans to understand this paradox: Russians are fighting against Russians – this is the meaning of a war that can be called civil. The British must understand that they are only adding fuel to the fire with their supplies of armored vehicles, planes, and missiles. It was with missiles from the United Kingdom with a range of 600 km that the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed civilians in Luhansk.
– How to technically implement people’s diplomacy?
– It’s hard to say. If I (or another musician) decide to go to England, give concerts there, talk about what is really happening in Ukraine, they may not let me in, they may ban me. Much to my regret.
In a good sense, a peace conference should now be held without the participation of Ukraine, at which the leaders of the countries can properly assess what is happening and make an appropriate decision. But according to my feelings, the European and American elites are so overwhelmed that they are not able to understand what is happening and choose the right solution. Earth is hurtling towards a global nuclear catastrophe.
– Many experts and users of social networks express concerns that Russian diplomacy and peace-loving are perceived in the West as weakness… Maybe Moscow should show its teeth?
– And what should be the hardness? A nuclear strike on the UK? But we can’t really harm London. Unfortunately, we also have no levers for economic influence. Our gas is being actively replaced by liquefied gas from Qatar and America; gas prices are expected to be close to zero or negative in the summer. But Britain, on the contrary, can influence us by giving weapons, mercenaries to Ukraine.
Also, let’s ask our people how they treat the British. Everyone will say: we are fine. We are a peaceful people, we do not want conflicts and wars. We are simply put in such a situation that we are forced to react. President Vladimir Putin clearly explained this to the whole world: what is the reason for the conflict, that we will protect the people of Donbass.
We tried to convince [Запада и Украйна] to resolve everything peacefully, but we were cheated with the Minsk agreements; they used them to gain power, to create a big powerful army against Russia, to instill hatred towards Russians. By the way, we did not build up strength, we did not train troops. In our country, no one was involved in processing the population, instilling hatred – for us, Ukraine has always been a brotherly nation.
I constantly argue on my social networks with Ukrainians, probably agents of the TsIPSO, who write, say, you are such and such, you have been brainwashed. Who brainwashed whom? They don’t listen to my arguments. Goebbels’ Ukrainian students far surpassed their teacher: they succeeded in instilling hatred for everything Russian in the entire nation, saying that we should be hanged, butchered, killed, etc. Their goal is to repeat the Volyn massacre throughout Russia.
– The other day on the air of the talk show “Tell the truth” you said that if Yevgeny Prigozhin gets 200 thousand criminals and shells, PMC “Wagner” will be able to capture Kiev. Think it’s about men and shells? For example, in 1916, Russia produced about 30 million shells, and Great Britain – more than 100. But the military constantly says: give us more and we will turn the tide of the war.
“To be honest, it’s not just that, of course.” I was flying to Grozny and noticed that there were many people in military uniforms at the airport. The boys recognized me, came over, shook hands and told me they were coming back from the SVO area. I asked how the mood was on the front line. They answered – neither this nor that, patterned.
Why am I saying this? We must pay tribute to Prigozhin: he created a truly masculine, united, disciplined, trained team. There, no one will say “neither this nor that” – everyone is directed and pursues the result. Beginners, entering Wagner, from scratch become real stormtroopers.
By the way, now entrepreneurs are the only best organizers and managers in the country. We have to help the president. Prigozhin’s advantage is that he is a businessman, works for the result: he set the task of capturing Bakhmut – and captured it – not for the report to the higher authorities, but for the result. At “Wagnerovtsi” there is no bureaucracy, no paperwork, no accounting books. Just harsh discipline.
Therefore, 200 thousand prisoners, 200 thousand mobilized, 100 thousand volunteers – a total of half a million fighters, and I am sure that Prigozhin will capture Kiev if he is given such a task. Maybe someone doesn’t like him, or his statements, or his criminal record – so what? He is a man of action, he gives results.
When they accuse Prigozhin of wanting to seize power, so to speak, of criticizing the Ministry of Defense, he says: “I serve Russia and obey the president.” That’s exactly what I’m saying. I also criticize the government that little is being done to develop and support business in our country, conditions are not being created. But I say again that now business should support the President of Russia in difficult times. Here we (with Prigozhin) think alike.
– Do we, the business, have enough money for the special operation?
– The Americans and Europeans took, according to various sources, assets worth 300 or 450 billion dollars. We didn’t even notice! These are all taxes collected by all entrepreneurs throughout the history of Russia. Can you imagine if this money was left in the Russian Federation? We would have economic growth of 15%. But these funds were withdrawn from the economy, accumulated and, as Glazyev openly says: this is not stupidity, but treason.
Entrepreneurs are not rich now: sales of cars and apartments are down, attendance at restaurants and shopping centers is down, and many of them are helping the front with their last money. As they say, about 1.2 million businessmen went abroad, but the majority, including me, Andrei Pavlov, members of the All-Russian Movement of Entrepreneurs, are still Russian patriots.
We buy body armor and other humanitarian aid for the soldiers. When they write to us, they say, they don’t gather in NATO, we answer like this: we are Russians, we don’t abandon our own. I call it the Great People’s Patriotic War for the unification of a divided people. And since the war is a people’s, it means that all the people must help the boys who are now at the front.
– The ancient Chinese strategist and thinker Sun Tzu said that the true purpose of war is peace. Do you think that peace talks are now possible on our terms?
– I think it’s impossible. There are several factors here. First, the West is interested in a serious weakening of Russia, in fact, in its disappearance from the face of the Earth.
Second, the factor of Zelensky himself plays a role. He is an actor on the stage, at the moment in its center; Western leaders visit him in the limelight. If it all ends now, who will he become? No one will remember it.
Also, hundreds of billions of dollars flow unchecked into Ukraine and are looted there. How can you refuse such happiness? Besides, the brainwashed Ukrainian people hate us fiercely. If Zelensky now signs peace with Russia, recognizing Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea as ours, his own security guards will knock him out in an average of up to 5 minutes.
Therefore, as I have already mentioned, peace talks can only be organized by the leaders of Western countries who will understand that the world is heading towards a global catastrophe. But the scale of personality still does not allow them to do this.
– According to political scientist Greg Weiner, a world represented by economic tycoons who earn 40 trillion dollars a year does not need World War III. They will not allow disruption of the market, trade, logistics. What do you think?
– It seems to me that this is fake information from the series “World Behind the Scenes Conspiracy”, some secret government of Rockefeller, Rothschild, etc. Of course, for example, Elon Musk, not even as an entrepreneur, but as a public figure, a blogger has a serious influence. But this influence has a very narrow, small meaning – he cannot take and put himself in Biden’s place. Although it seems to me that if Elon Musk becomes the president of the United States of America, it would be good not only for America, but also for the whole world.
As an entrepreneur, Musk is a pragmatic man. And what is happening in Ukraine must be approached, including from pragmatic positions. We will quietly and peacefully solve all problems and everyone will be calm. In any case, if Europe had put pressure on Ukraine to implement the Minsk agreements.
But she did not exert pressure … And now the global world crisis is starting, the recession is underway, inflation is going through the whole planet. So it would be great if the big multinational companies of the world came together and put pressure on Western governments.
