“Andrew Ready’s First Experience in European Rugby with Colomiers Rugby | Integration, Conquest Phases, and Facing Vannes”

Andrew Ready arrived this summer from the Western Force in Australia. This is his first experience in Europe and in French rugby. He quickly integrated into the group to become one of the incumbents in his position. He participated in 22 meetings this year, including 13 as a starter, including four trials. For this last trip of the season, he talks about his integration into the group, the conquest sector and the evening opponent.

This is your first season at Colomiers Rugby. How do you feel about the band and your performances?

It’s a great experience for me. The team welcomed me very well and facilitated my integration. They helped me to familiarize myself with the team’s game and to translate the instructions. Overall, I’m happy with my performance. But I know I can be more consistent. Every week, my goal is to have a high level in the scrum and touch sectors.

You are three experienced hookers with Thomas and Hika. Do you talk a lot on a daily basis?

It’s fantastic to have so much experience in this position. These qualities and this experience create a healthy competition before each meeting. Individually, we each have different qualities and it’s great for the collective. I continue to learn from them, especially in scrums and lineouts.

It’s an end of the season without sporting stakes with the qualification. What are the team’s objectives for these last two meetings of the year?

Despite the disappointment of our current position, the objectives do not change for the team. Every week is a new challenge. We are going to Vannes with the aim of winning. We have to keep fighting until the last day for the team but also for the club and the fans.

How do you feel about the conquest phases, which have been a little more difficult in recent weeks?

Each week is a new challenge also for these sectors. These last two games are an opportunity to finish well and end this season on a positive note.

How do you perceive this formation of Vannes?

It is a team with great qualities. She took it apart by being in the Top6 today. Offensively, they have very good, powerful and technical players. We have to be physically present and aggressive both in defence. In attack, it will be necessary to lose dominant in melee and be precise in touch. We must be confluent on our abilities to go for a victory.
