Surprise in New York: The governor of the state, Andrew Cuomo, receives the Founder’s Emmy Award because of the Corona-PKs.

Great recognition for the democratic governor of the US state of New York: As the organizers announced, Andrew Cuomo (62) will receive the honorary award of this year’s International Emmy Awards, the so-called Founder’s Award, next Monday. The reason for the special award is Cuomo’s media presence during the first wave of the corona pandemic, when the metropolis of New York City was particularly hard hit.
Cuomo held regular press conferences starting in early March, which were broadcast on both TV and online. In just three months, he appeared in front of the cameras 111 times at these events. The reason for the award ceremony says that he has demonstrated leadership and shared important information with the public. In this way he contributed to calming people all over the world.
Next Monday, the politician will receive the award in a virtual gala. This special award is presented annually by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to creative minds who have had a positive, global impact on television programming. Previous winners include Al Gore (72), Steven Spielberg (73), JJ Abrams (54) and Oprah Winfrey (68).
