In dialogue with La W, former President Andrés Pastrana spoke about the crisis in the country and pointed out that “Nicolás Maduro has promoted and financed a scaffolding of vandalism and weakening of the public force, which seeks destabilize the country and promote a new Venezuela in Colombia”.

Regarding the national strike, Pastrana pointed out that he recognizes the legitimate protest and pointed out that “the Police should not go out armed to accompany the demonstrations.” He also opposed the possibility of using the military to confront the protests.

Regarding the 2022 elections, Pastrana assured that we must look for “a consensus candidate from the center right” who faces Gustavo Petro “What is the candidate that represents Venezuela?”.
