Andrejs Osokins will perform in the regions with a program dedicated to Beethoven

The premiere of the program took place in February in Riga, at the Grand Guild, but the series of concerts planned later was interrupted due to the epidemiological situation. On September 23, the concert tour dedicated to Beethoven’s music resumed with the concert sold out at the IX Music and Art Festival Daugavpils “ReStArt 2020”. After the concert in Latgale, Osokin’s program will be performed in Talsi, Ogre, Ķekava, Rēzekne, Krustpils, Alūksne, as well as in Estonia.

Andrejs Osokins, one of the most talented pianists in Latvia, has taken the honor of being the ambassador for the music of his favorite composer Ludwig van Beethoven. Adapting to the changing possibilities of this year and continuing active concert activities, the work invested last year in preparing the program for concerts both in Latvia and abroad culminates this autumn with the opportunity to perform concerts in regional concert halls. This is possible especially due to the interest and support of local governments and the high level of organization of cultural life in cities.

Commenting on the planned concerts, Andrejs Osokins points out that the programs are different, for example, in Ķekava Andris Dzenītis’ new work “Without the Moon” will be performed, but Latgale Embassy “Gors” At the heart of the program is the “Sonata quasi una fantasia” or the famous “Sonata of the Moon” wrapped in myths and legends. The concert will feature sketches of Beethoven’s piano, lyrical miniatures by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Fantasy do minor and followers of Beethoven and his followers – Robert Schuman, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Frederic Chopin.

In my opinion, this work of the composer is a very valuable contribution to the Latvian piano music. “I’m looking forward to this adventure,” Andrejs Osokins comments on the upcoming premiere and adds:

“The world has changed. Now you don’t need much – just a very good piano. Because you can play wonderful programs in concert halls where there are wonderful pianos. I look forward to concerts dedicated to Beethoven’s music with special excitement and excitement. “The year 2020 is dedicated to Beethoven’s great spirit, and who knows, maybe he will really be there with us,” adds the pianist.
