Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev failed to reach the fourth round of Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam tournament of the season.

In the third round, the 25-year-old Russian, seeded at the tournament under the seventh number, lost to the Italian Lorenzo Sonego, the 48th racket of the world, with a score of 7:5, 6:0, 3:6, 6:7 (5:7), 3 :6.

Sonego’s next opponent will be Russian Karen Khachanov, who defeated Australian Tanasi Kokkinakis.

Rublev is ranked seventh in the world ranking. The Russian has 13 ATP titles. At the Tokyo Olympics, he became the Olympic champion in the mixed doubles. In April, Rublev won the Masters in Monte Carlo. The Russian twice reached the Roland Garros to the 1/4 finals (2020, 2022), lost two more times in the first round.

Khachanov is the last of the Russians in the men’s draw of the tournament in Paris.

Roland Garros will end on June 11th. The total prize fund of the tournament is €49.6 million.
