More than a decade ago it was believed that resistance in the elite was a confrontation between the “party of evil” and the “party of money”. Those who make money need free trade and the circulation of capital, repression and war are not in their interest. Furthermore, the power elite has “placed” their real estate, capital and even children abroad. It seemed to be a sure guarantee of the situation if relations with the West worsened.

Even then, even during the “liberal” president Dmitry Medvedev, it was clear: if the ultra-conservative leadership prevails over the liberal in the political elite, the division into two parties will lose its meaning. The “party of evil and war” will take care of the money for its “security” needs and the “party of money” will remain empty-handed. If they want to keep even a part of their assets, as well as their life and freedom, they will have to adapt to the new conditions
