Rhein-Kreis Neuss/Mönchengladbach/Viersen/Krefeld/Solingen. The previous CEO, Paul Neuhäuser, is retiring

The management of the non-profit St. Augustinus Group with its headquarters in Neuss currently consists of three members; its chairman is Paul Neuhäuser. He is retiring from his position at the end of September after more than 20 years in management. The 63-year-old heralds a generation change. From October 1, 2022, the management will be supplemented by a person who stands for further development and continuity: Andreas Degelmann. The Bamberg native is currently spokesman for the management of the Kplus Group in Solingen, but was head of central corporate development at the St. Augustinus Group until the end of 2019. Now the Neusser by choice is returning as one of three managing directors to the largest health and social enterprise on the left bank of the Lower Rhine.

In the future, the three managing directors will assume their managerial responsibilities on an equal footing. “Mr. Degelmann will contribute his analytical skills, his strategic, forward-looking thinking with his binding and effective manner to this challenging management task. He is excellently suited to help shape the future of the St. Augustinus Group,” says Joachim Eich, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the St. Augustinus Group. “In addition, he convincingly embodies the charitable spirit of the company and exemplifies it,” adds the chairman of the shareholders’ meeting and the foundation of the Neusser Augustinerinnen – Cor unum, Wilhelm Straaten.

At the beginning of 2020, Andreas Degelmann joined the management of the Kplus Group and presented a forward-looking redesign of the hospital landscape in the Mettmann/Leverkusen/Solingen area. “At Kplus, Andreas Degelmann created the conditions for a sustainable development of the Catholic hospital landscape in this area,” praises Straaten. “We are very pleased that he has now decided to switch back to the St. Augustinus Group with the departure of Paul Neuhäuser.”

The 36-year-old Degelmann lives in Neuss, is married and has four children. The trained business economist studied at the Catholic University of Eichstätt and at the University of Passau, where he earned a master’s degree in charity science and applied theology. He then held various positions, including for the Malteser in Passau, Cologne and Neuss. In 2017, the committed Catholic first came to St. Augustinus-Fachkliniken gGmbH as an assistant to the management and a short time later switched to the St. Augustinus Group, where he took over the management of central corporate development. On October 1st, he will return to his adopted hometown of Neuss as Managing Director of the St. Augustinus Group with its 6,000 employees in hospitals, senior citizens’ facilities and psychiatric wards.
