Born and raised practically in the family business, «Sartirani Legnami» in Mozzo, which closed a few years ago, in 1987 he graduated as an accountant from the «Maironi» institute in Ponte San Pietro and then worked in the family business: a entrepreneurial reality born in the immediate post-war period, in 1947, and which ten years ago had 5 employees and a turnover of 900 thousand euros. After the closure of the Mozzo sawmill, Andrea Sartirani remained in the wood sector, working for a company in Tirano, Valtellina.
Passionate about paragliding and motocross, a few years ago he was also the victim of an accident at work, from which he then completely recovered. His professional passion for wood had pushed him to participate personally in the organization of conferences and exhibitions at the “Tino Sana Carpenter Museum” in Almenno San Bartolomeo, in the Masters of Landscape event in Bergamo Alta and with Ersaf , the regional body for agriculture and forestry services. Supporter of Made in Italy, he has always collaborated with other companies in the sector to go beyond simple work. And, despite living in Brembate Sopra, he had always remained tied to Mozzo, where he had been a member of the Alpine group since the early 1990s (he had retired from the military with the rank of Alpine second lieutenant). «The news of his death left everyone speechless – comments group leader Claudio Maggi –: we are close to his family». The funeral will be celebrated in Mozzo, but the date has not yet been set.
