Pirlo once coached Fatih Karagumruk for a season in 2022-2023. He failed to improve the Turkish club’s performance by achieving 13 wins, 12 draws and 11 defeats.
Fatih Karagumruk failed to break into the top four and finished in seventh place in the 2022/2023 Turkish SuperLiga. Pirlo was then released by Fatih Karagumruk and returned to Italy to coach Sampdoria.
Colin Kazim-Richards related an interesting experience Andrea Pirlo. The England striker admitted that he was surprised by the freedom the coach gave his players.
Pirlo said that Colin did not forbid his players from smoking in the dressing room. Some of Fatih Karagumruk’s players, especially those from Italy, even broke up in the past [menghabiskan sebatang rokok -red] before continuing the second half.
“We have a lot of Italian players who smoke. In Turkey you can. It depends on the coach, but last year with Pirlo they were allowed to smoke,” said Colin as quoted by The Sun.
“And they smoke non-stop before the game… spend half the time sitting there smoking. [Pirlo] talking, they’re down there whipping,” he added.
“But the culture is different, you know? So, it’s not me saying something for the shock factor. I’m saying that you can do it legally,” Colin Kazim-Richards revealed.
Andrea Pirlo When he was a player, he was accused of being a smoker. His former teammate at Juventus, Niklas Bendtner, once caught him drinking coffee with Gianluigi Buffon in the toilet.
