Trainer Juventus, Andrea Pirlo, earned flattery staring at the duel with Dynamo Kyiv on Champions League. What the ‘teacher’, coach of Dynamo Kyiv, said, Mircea Lucescu.
Dynamo Kyiv vs Juventus took place at NSK Olimpiyskiy, Kyiv, Tuesday (20/10/2020) evening at 23.55 WIB. This is Group G’s first match.
For Pirlo, this is his first match in European competition. In four matches in the Italian League, Pirlo has never lost with a record of two wins and two draws. Their win percentage is 50 percent.
Pirlo and Lucescu worked together at Brescia and Inter Milan. In Brescia, Lucescu and Pirlo worked together for a year in the 1995/1996 season. While at Inter Milan, Lucescu and Pirlo worked together in 1998/1999.
Ahead of Dinamo Kyiv vs Juventus, Lucescu reminisces about his time at Brescia together Pirlo.
“Amazing, mature. Matured like he is at the moment. I remember going to Viareggio to see the match and I came home with him by car. We had time to talk,” Lucescu said as reported on the UEFA website.
“I realized that he is a calm and sensible person. Along with that being a creative player, he is someone who manages everything, which is another skill.”
“It really helped him become who he is, the coach of an extraordinary team like Juventus. He called me maestro? That makes me proud. I have to thank him. I wish him a great career (as a coach),” he added.
