KOMPAS.com – Separation Andrea Dovizioso with Ducati threatened to be resolved through court channels.
Andrea Dovizioso decided to part ways with Ducati after eight years of partnership (since 2013).
He’s not racing for Ducati anymore on MotoGP 2021, at the same time deciding to be absent for at least one year from the world of racing.
However, Dovizioso’s farewell with the Italian manufacturer did not seem to just happen.
This is because the rider and his manager, Simone Battistella, suspected that there was “sabotage” by Ducati.

The sabotage in question is Ducati’s “ignorance” of the illegal engine modification scandal Yamaha on the Spanish MotoGP.
Ducati and other manufacturers agree that only Yamaha and two of its Monster Energy Yamaha and Petronas Yamaha SRT teams will be subject to points deductions.
Meanwhile, they “liberated” the Yamaha riders, in this case Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales, from the penalty point reduction in the 2020 riders’ standings.
Quartararo and Vinales won podium one and two at the Spanish MotoGP, while Dovizioso finished third.
The point reduction penalty could slightly benefit Dovizioso for his position in the riders’ standings at that time.

There are reports from The Race on Saturday (11/14/2020), that the idea to exempt Yamaha riders from sanctions came from Ducati.
If that’s true, Dovizioso is rumored to be in discussions with his lawyers soon to determine his next steps, according to Battistella.
“If it is true that the proposal starts from Ducati, it will be a very embarrassing situation,” Battistella told The Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Both Andrea and I were not informed and a decision was released in the evening with only one hour left to appeal,” he added.
“The decision has major consequences in terms of rankings and finances. Now we are considering our next steps if this situation arises,” Battistella said.

Meanwhile, Ducati Sports Director Pablo Ciabatti has denied allegations that his party was behind Yamaha’s leniency.
“I would be very surprised if Andrea and Battistella really thought about this action,” Ciabatti told The Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It was not the idea of Ducati, the search for a unanimous decision to solve a problem that has been going on for some time.”
