“Facilities, but above all long-term work, enabled me to obtain these results”, confides Andréa Angely. The prize in question is a national prize intended to promote excellence in economics lessons in the STMG (Sciences et Technologies du Management et de la Gestion) series.
Awarded by a national jury, the special mention was awarded during a ceremony in the premises of the IEDOM (Institute for issuing overseas departments).

The 17-year-old laureate, a student at Lycée de Bellevue, says she is proud of her career, despite a little disappointment.
Always aim for the best. I would have preferred to be in the top three but the special mention gave me courage and self-esteem
A good student since childhood, she has her parents by her side. Proud of their daughter, they support her throughout her journey.
My parents support me in everything I do. They guide me telling me what’s right or wrong
ambition and hard work
After completing her college in Coridon (Fort-de-France), Andréa chose to continue at Bellevue high school. At the end of her general year, after some research, the young student decided to choose the STMG course. She has the support of her guidance counselor who finds the idea excellent.
This choice will indeed prove beneficial for the student. She explains that she gained targeted and useful knowledge for her future projects.
I learned things that I certainly would not have learned if I had gone to general education
With increased knowledge of law, economics and management, Andréa intends to continue in the ECT preparatory class in Trinidad after her baccalaureate. And then go to France to go to business school.
Once her diploma is in her pocket, the young girl hopes to create a business in Martinique or else become a director of human resources.
I would have opted for a company in the textile industry because fashion is something that has fascinated me since I was young and I see myself managing this kind of business.
The pride of representing his island
Andréa Angely says she is proud of her career. For her, “the overseas departments deserve to be recognized at their fair value”.
This special mention reinforces my idea that we can do it no matter where we come from.
The effectiveness of technological sectors is often called into question by public opinion. Frequently stigmatised, the STMG sector nevertheless offers rich prospects. Andréa also invites students to follow their instincts as to their orientation.
Even if we often make fun of the technological sectors, they are just as good as the others. Do not listen to those who advise you not to continue to these branches. You always have to do what you want because only we know what we need 1st candidate from Overseas in the 10 finalists

Each academy selected its winners and sent the copy of the first academic winner to the national jury composed of 2 co-presidents and 8 members.
The national jury met on January 27, 2023. For the first time, an overseas candidate was among the 10 finalists. This is Andréa Angely.
