André Villas-Boas’ campaign headquarters was vandalized on Wednesday night, a source close to the former coach’s candidacy for the elections for the governing bodies of national football runner-up FC Porto confirmed to the Lusa agency this Thursday.
One of the cables responsible for providing the Internet connection in the space, which is located on Rua da Agramonte, near the Boavista roundabout, in Porto, was cut the day before the press conference to introduce José Pereira da Costa as a candidate for the list “There is only one Porto” to the position of financial administrator of the ‘blue and white’ SAD.
The problem was repaired in a timely manner, without preventing the event from taking place in person from 6pm and its dissemination on the digital platforms of André Villas-Boas’ candidacy, who will file a complaint with the authorities, awaiting the police report.
In the elections for FC Porto’s governing bodies for the four-year period 2024-2028, which should be held in April, the 46-year-old former coach will compete with businessman Nuno Lobo, a defeated candidate in 2020, and Pinto da Costa, holder of 15 consecutive terms as president of the ‘dragons’ and leader with the most titles and longevity in world football.
