André van Duin often does not even know the celebrities who participate in The Masked Singer. He sometimes sees a star coming out of the suit, which he does not recognize at all. “Then I think: now I don’t know who it is yet.”
Few people are as famous as André van Duin. the AD asks him whether he ever experiences that someone does not know him. “Yes, of course I don’t know, people don’t come up to me on the street and say they don’t know me. But I understand what you mean. Although I think it may be different with the youth.”
The Masked Singer
Young people who don’t watch TV, for example, says André. “What must they know me from? That also works the other way, doesn’t it? I don’t know all the famous Dutch people anymore. For example, if I watch The Masked Singer on TV and someone takes his hood off, I think: I don’t know who it is yet, I have no idea.”
André does watch that RTL 4 program with great pleasure. “Just like to Ik Vertrek and Even tot Hier, those two guys are doing a great job. I also like the TV Canteen, Carlo is fantastic there. Netflix isn’t very good for me, it all takes me too long.”
Tinder
There is one major handicap to being known: dating is very difficult. “Whether I would notice whether someone is going for me or for the celebrities, I don’t know. I’ve never had to do that. Actually, I’ve known all my friends and loved ones for a long time. I still think if it happens, it must be someone I’ve known for a while.”
“I don’t close the door to a new love. I’m not actively searching, not on Tinder. It would be nice. Although I think at the same time: I’m almost 75, I have a whole backpack of experiences and that also applies to the other person. Do you still want all that?”
