André van Duin will release a new album and book on November 22, called La Bohème. André also published a book earlier this year (see video).
The album is inspired by the French songs of Charles Aznavour. Presenter Matthijs van Nieuwkerk has written the introduction to the book of the same name.
On the album, André sings Aznavour’s songs that he translated, with a “contemporary twist”. The idea for the album arose in 2020, when André sang the song La Bohème for Matthijs in the last week of De Wereld Draait Door. The album also includes a duet with Boudewijn de Groot, who also translated Aznavour’s work.
The book contains interviews with André himself, producer Eric van Tijn, singing expert Rob Kemps and singer Boudewijn de Groot. Music journalist Robert Haagsma wrote the book.
André previously made an album dedicated to an artist. He released Van Duin Zingt Sonneveld in honor of Wim Sonneveld.
