André Silva still had a contract on the Main until June 30, 2023, in September 2019 he initially switched from AC Milan to the traditional club on loan. The Hessians were able to sign the striker for the 2020/21 season.

In 2020, the now 25-year-old reached the semi-finals of the DFB Cup and the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League with Eintracht. In total, the attacker entered the goalscorer list 45 times in 71 missions across all competitions. Last season, Silva achieved something historic when he set a new club record with 28 Bundesliga goals, which Bernd Hölzenbein has held with 26 goals within one season since 1976/77. He played a decisive role in Eintracht Frankfurt’s record season. With 60 points, the team scored more points than ever since the introduction of the three-point rule.
