André Rieu has canceled the Christmas concerts he would give next December together with the Johan Strauss Orchestra. The violinist reports this on his own on Friday Facebook-page.
Rieu thinks it is not responsible to continue the shows that were scheduled for December 19 and 20. “Safety comes first, of course, and at the moment we cannot perform in the way you and we would like to do,” said the violinist.
In the Facebook post, the violinist looks back on his previous Christmas concerts at MECC. “I remember last year’s fantastic atmosphere, with so much romance and the fun we had together,” said Rieu.
The concerts have been postponed for a year. The shows are scheduled for December 19-20, 2021.
