In the introduction to his program Faitelson sin Censura, the TUDN analyst dedicated some emotional words to André Marín, especially when recalling passages that they experienced at many times.
“I don’t know where to start, I try to understand what happened, I swallow, I calm down and then I turn to my left, on seat 23F, there lying on the window, a 15-year-old teenager is crying, while tears roll down his cheeks, he turns and suddenly says to me ‘hey David and after this we will continue being friends’.”
David Faitelson recalled some experiences with André Marín, such as at the 1994 World Cup in the United States in New Jersey, when he was almost arrested by the police for defending him.
“The flight to Monterrey seems eternal to me. I hug him, ‘you have to be strong’ and my thoughts travel back to infinite time. I ask him ‘What are you doing there, are you going to fall?’, but he doesn’t pay attention to me while he tries to film a national team training session from the top of a tree.”
Faitelson sighed several times, recalled the suffering he had experienced in recent years and said he could spend hours and hours telling anecdotes with André Marín in the 35 years he has known him.
“I’m not in much spirits. I lost more than a professional, a legendary reporter, this morning. I lost a dear friend, almost a brother, with whom I enjoyed, suffered, cried, lived, learned and also grew. Yes, André… your father has not died… he is still with us and will always be with us.”
