André Hazes “maybe” really enjoyed performing for the first time in his life. The singer made his comeback on stage on Friday evening during Holland Zingt Hazes and did so without drugs or alcohol.
“I found the run-up to this extra exciting,” Hazes said afterwards Show news. “There were plenty of times where I would normally grab a beer.”
It was the first time in years that the singer was on stage: in September 2021 he announced that he would stop performing due to “burnout-like complaints”. He later confirmed that he had problems with alcohol and drugs.
The singer says that he used to often go “completely crazy” before a performance. Now he remained calm all day long. “So I actually think it was a shame in my past years that I did it that way. I really enjoyed it now, perhaps for the first time in my life. Yes, that’s very nice.”
Hazes last performed for a large audience in September 2021.
