“I think it’s good if I record a video, because I notice that there is some confusion,” André begins his video. “I see that under my last post, but also in private messages, about the repertoire I’m going to sing.” With his ‘last post’ André refers to the message he shared earlier in the day on Instagram in which he writes: “Which songs do you hope I will sing on November 25 in Ahoy?”
“Ladies and gentlemen, I never said that I would never sing my old repertoire again,” the singer continues. “I am very grateful to have those songs, that has given me everything. I carry the name André Hazes with great pride. So I will always sing my father’s music to honor him. Because that has also brought me where I am now.”
However, the artist says he is happy that he can make new music that he finds ‘really cool’. “And I think the mix between those three things is very nice for me and will work out very well in the next twenty years. So don’t worry guys, I’ll just do everything. I’ll see you all in Ahoy.”
André will be in Ahoy on November 25. It is his first solo show since he stopped performing at the end of 2021 due to a burnout. He also struggled with drug and alcohol addictions, from which he has since been kicked.
