Today, attorney-at-law Olavi-Jüri Luik, who represents Irina Antonjuk, addressed the Pirita District Government with a written request. The lawyer requests that the local government cancel Andre Hanimägi’s permanent residence entry in the city of Tallinn, as it is a non-current entry based on RRS § 26 (1) p. 7 and it clearly violates the subjective right of the applicant Irina Antonjuk to exercise her mandate in the Tallinn City Council.
The lawyer justifies his request by referring to the response to the inquiry signed by the witness, that Andre Hanimägi did not actually live in the apartment belonging to the witness, and no other people lived in the apartment at the time of his registration. The information provided by the owner proves that the registry entry was fictitious and did not correspond to the actual permanent residence.
Elder of Pirita District Kaido Saarniit confirms that the received written request will be processed with all seriousness. “All voters must have the right to be represented by representatives who receive a mandate from the population. Providing data on one’s place of residence contrary to the requirements arising from the law is a threat to democracy and the protection of the interests of local government residents,” says Saarniit.
