Krefeld Just 16 hours after his victory in New York, jockey Andrasch Starke celebrates two victories on the racecourse in Krefeld’s city forest in front of many well-protected ladies with imaginative headgear on Ladie’s Day.

Ascot in the city forest – this was the motto of Ladies’ Day at the racecourse with a hat award for women and children. And so many visitors got the best out of their closets when choosing their racetrack clothing. In particular, the many imaginative headgear provided a real Ascot feeling in the city forest. Hat awards, fashion show and numerous stands with fashionable accessories rounded off the successful supporting program.

The sporting card included seven races. Unfortunately, more than half of the races were very poorly occupied by the number of starters. One reason for the low response from the trainers could be the poor funding for the Krefeld races. Compensation 4 with a total endowment of 3,600 euros, of which the winning horse receives 1,750 euros, does not attract any starters who have to travel long distances to the Krefeld city forest. A rethink is needed here.

Star jockey Andrasch Starke received a lot of praise and congratulations that day. Less than 16 hours before he got back on horseback in the Krefeld city forest, he had won a $400,000 race with the Ittlingen gelding Loft (trainer Marcel Weiß) at New York’s Belmont Park racetrack. The native of Hamburg sealed the victory with a cool and well-considered ride. Immediately after the award ceremony, we got on the plane and at 2 p.m. Starke climbed into the saddle of Shirazi in the first race in Krefeld.

He couldn’t give Shirazi wings, he finished fourth. Jockey Bauyrzhan Murzabayev won the race with the hot favorite Shano (odds 1.5:1) ahead of Lorielle and Deebee. But only 30 minutes later, Andrasch Starke in the saddle of the betting favorite struck for the first time of the day. His ride on Sancho from the stable of Dutch trainer Christian Wolters was too strong for his competitors. Miss Tick and Amalita (trained by Hans-Albert Blume) took the next places.

Three-year-old mares competed in the third race. Russian Candy, trained by Andreas Wöhler, simply couldn’t be persuaded to move into her starting box. So only five horses ran. Champion jockey Bauyrzhan Murzabayev showed a class ride in the saddle of Dalina, kept out of everything for a long time, only to be in the lead right on the finish line. He scored his second goal of the day.

Only three horses ran in the fourth race. It won Schützenprinz with Adrie de Vries in the saddle ahead of Wellenbrecher and The Iconist. In the odds of the day with the four-way bet, there was a guaranteed payout of 10,000 euros. Eleven horses started and the Toto favorites, Lanuza (2nd day win for trainer Christian Wolters) and Parmenter, took the first two places. Since two outsiders finished behind them, the four-way bet paid a worthwhile 689 euros for a stake of one euro.

The visitors saw a really good horse in the sixth test, an equalization III. In the middle of the home straight, all the horses still had a chance of winning, but then the three-year-old gelding Petit Marin shifted into higher gear and easily said goodbye to his competitors. In his saddle, Bauyrzhan Murzabayev completed his third success. One can be very excited about the further career of Petit Marin, who is trained by Marcel Weiß in Mülheim an der Ruhr.

At the end the hour of “Andrasch the Strong” struck again. He’s doing almost everything at the moment. Three horses fought for victory right up to the finish line and that’s where Andrasch Starke put his horse in front. The gray mare Amaana won ahead of Miraz and Victorio. Starke was happy and had a lot of praise ready: “The turf here in Krefeld is in excellent condition. A special compliment to the racetrack manager and his team.”

At the end of the day’s racing, the Krefeld racing club had a turnover of 123,973 euros. Starke and Murzabayev are jointly at the top of the German statistics with 25 wins each season.
