For many “Star Wars” fans, “Andor” is one of the best that the Star Wars saga has to offer. Season 2 will finally continue in 2025 – and we were able to see the brand new preview exclusively at the Disney D23 trade fair.

We know the character Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) from “Rogue One”. The Disney Plus series “Andor” tells Cassian’s backstory – and it’s no surprise that other characters from “Rogue One” are now making their way into the acclaimed series. It’s been rumored for a while, and now the new teaser, which we saw along with some behind-the-scenes material at the D23 in Anaheim, California, has confirmed it:
Ben Mendelsohn plays Orson Krennic
Ben Mendelsohn appears in “Andor” season 2 as “Star Wars” villain Admiral Director Orson Krennic from “Rogue One.” Also featured in the trailer: Alan Tudyk as Cassian’s loyal friend K-2SO.
At the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, where FILMSTARTS editor Annemarie Havran attended the big Disney Entertainment Showcase, not only was the new preview shown, but lead actor Diego Luna also took the stage and talked a little about the upcoming episodes, which will cover a period of four years. Season 2 is the “final piece of the puzzle” in Cassian’s story.

Season 2 of “Andor” starts in 2025
Incidentally, this is not the first material we have seen of “Andor” season 2. A year ago at the Star Wars Celebration 2023 in London, we were there live and saw a trailer – you can find the report here. At that time, the start of the second “Andor” season was actually planned for 2024. However, with a one-year delay, it will now will not be ready until 2025. However, the exact start date for the new episodes of the Disney Plus series has still not been determined.
Also returning in season 2 of “Andor” are Stellan Skarsgard as Luthen Rael, Kyle Soller as Syril Karn, Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen, Denise Gough as Dedra Meero and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma.
While the “Andor” material was only shown to the audience on site, Disney has also released the first trailer for the “Star Wars” series “Skeleton Crew”, which was also shown at D23, online. “Skeleton Crew” with Jude Law will be released on December 3, 2024 on Disney+, you can watch the trailer here:
