Anderson’s film ‘For the Infinite’ to be shown in cinemas from September

Roy Anderson is a film director whose unique handwriting can already be considered a separate genre. If Bergman used to tell the audience about Swedish everyday life, joys and worries, nowadays Anderson has become a similar ambassador. His latest film “The Infinite”, inhabited by comic and touching losers, will be shown in cinemas from September 1.

The film includes reflections on human life in all its beauty and cruelty, laughter and banality. The narrator ‘s voice, like Sheherazade’ s “Tale of a Thousand and One Nights” (which is one of the director ‘s main sources of inspiration for the film), leads to dream – like wanderings. Seemingly meaningless moments have the same meaning as historical events – a couple flying over war-torn Cologne; the father stops to tie shoelaces for his daughter in the rain; defeated army goes to a prisoner of war camp.

Roy Anderson’s world has also remained the same in the film “For the Infinite”. It is teal. The director is not a pessimist, but he sees the truth of the endless story – life is a tragedy without winners. With due respect and attention, a person treats what he has only if he is clearly aware of the fragility and vulnerability of everything that exists.

Gained Venice Film Festival “Silver Lion”, Roy Anderson’s film “The Infinite” is a collection of 35 flashes of life, playing with the absurd and simple beauty of existence. In 2014, the director’s film “Pigeon Sitting on a Branch in Reflection on Existence” won the main prize at the Venice Film Festival.
