In the final stage of the match between Djurgården and IFK Gothenburg (1-0 to Dif), substitute Anders Trondsen was sent off after a duel with Besard Sabovic. The Norwegian was critical of seeing the red card.

– You can see in the pictures that I win the duel completely fairly. It’s not my fault that I’m more resilient than him, that he’s resilient like a tea bag. I can’t do anything about that. It’s the cheapest… it’s not even a yellow card. Should you give a red card, there will be many red cards in a match, said Trondsen afterwards.

The new signing didn’t even think he would be suspended for the offense. He will be. The 28-year-old will not only miss the match against IFK Norrköping (automatic suspension) on Monday. SvFF’s disciplinary board has decided to also suspend Trondsen in the meeting with Degerfors on Thursday next week.

The announcement comes untimely for IFK Gothenburg. The team is last in the allsvenskan after four rounds and has not yet scored a goal.

Appearances against Djurgården were Trondsen’s second in a competitive context since he joined the club.
