Andalucía Film Commission proposes more than 300 film destinations to discover in summer

SEVILLE, July 31. (EUROPEAN PRESS) –

The Andalusia Film Commission has proposed to discover more than 300 film destinations this summer, which it offers through its website, ‘https://andaluciadestinodecine.com‘, which include emblematic locations in the community such as the Tabernas desert in Almería, the Alcázar of Seville, the emblematic Playa de la Caleta in Cádiz or the historic Albaycín neighborhood in Granada.

According to the information provided in a press release, the website also has more than 35 thematic and monographic routes dedicated to “iconic” series such as ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘The Crown’ or ‘The Snow Girl’, as well as films such as ‘The Summer We Lived’ or ‘Exodus’. In addition, thematic routes are included such as ‘Movie Hotels’, ‘Andalusia and Music’ or ‘Andalusia of Fantasy’, and others dedicated to prominent figures such as Pedro Almodóvar or Sean Connery. This summer, the website “is being enriched even further” with the addition of five new thematic routes that allow you to explore the beaches and coastal destinations of Andalusia that have been filming locations.

Since its creation in 2018, the website has allowed travellers and film lovers to discover the “enormous diversity of Andalusian settings” that have been chosen for the filming of films and television series, ranging from classics such as ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ or ‘Verano azul’ to contemporary hits such as ‘Cerrar los ojos’ or ‘Los Farad’.

Each destination on the portal is accompanied by detailed information about the location, the series or film filmed there, and interesting anecdotes from the filming, thus offering an immersive experience for visitors. As the entity has pointed out, visiting the filming locations in Andalusia is only the beginning of a broader cultural experience. These destinations also offer the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine, traditions and the rich cultural heritage of the region.

In addition, users have 18 film maps at their disposal that make it easier to travel on foot or by car through the “most emblematic” places in the Andalusian community. These maps include itineraries, estimated duration, information about each stop, and recommendations about the “most outstanding” points on each route. Through a QR code or a direct link, it is possible to access the itinerary on Google Maps or on the website ‘Andalucía, destino de cine’ to obtain more details about each destination.

This “pioneering and unique” project in Spain, developed by the Andalusia Film Commission in collaboration with Andalusian Tourism of the Andalusian Regional Government’s Department of Tourism, invites visitors to “explore the wealth and variety of settings” that have made Andalusia “a true film destination,” the entity stressed.
