We therefore deny the rumours that describe him and his staff acting inappropriately during training.”

The accusations come at a time when the team is going through a major sporting crisis: it has won just three of its last eight games under Lennon, which has provoked the anger of the fans. The club calls for trust: “We remain firm and assure Rapid fans that their wishes and dreams are in good hands, because the path we have taken is the one that makes us stronger.”
