Vesselin Denkov – Veso Bradata

Four people, including Vesselin Denkov – Veso Bradata, have been brought to trial for the murder of financial broker Stanka Marangozova in October 2019, the prosecutor’s office said, without giving names. He is accused of financing the crime. Besides him, Biser Ivanov, who at that time was an employee of the NSO and organized the shooting, the perpetrator Petar Kostov and Ivo Maslarov, who was named as a guarantor, were also brought to court. However, he was taken to court in absentia because he was hiding. Due to Ivanov’s arrest in May last year, Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev resigned from the NSO and chose to be guarded by the Chief Prosecutor’s Office. It is noteworthy that Ventsislav Pirov, who was among the original detainees, dropped out of the case.
This is the second case for Denkov, who is accused of usury in the special court.

The Military District Prosecutor’s Office – Sofia filed an indictment in court against four persons for premeditated murder of SM, committed on October 10, 2019 in the city of Sofia.
One of the accused – BI, at the time of the crime was an employee of the National Security Service (NSS). He and two others have also been prosecuted for participating in an organized criminal group for possession of high-risk drugs for distribution.
P.K. was taken to court as the perpetrator of the murder. In the course of the investigation, evidence was gathered that on October 10, 2019, he followed the victim to a block of flats in the capital’s Mladost district. He stopped a motorcycle next to the woman’s car, pulled out a bouquet of artificial flowers, and knocked on the glass of the front left door. Behind the bouquet P.K. holding a pistol with a silencer. After S.M. took down the glass, he fired three shots. The victim suffered three gunshot wounds to the head, which led to her death. The shots from the bouquet tore off the color of a rose that fell on the asphalt.
The other three defendants in the pre-trial proceedings – BI, IM and VD, were brought to court as instigators and helpers in committing the crime. In the course of the pre-trial proceedings it was established that V.D. has provided financial resources, which through IM were handed over to the NSO employee – B.I. and the perpetrator of the murder – P.K.
A pistol and a motorcycle were procured for the crime, which on inspection on May 20, 2020 was found with the help of divers in a reservoir near the Sofia village of Chepintsi.
46-year-old S.M. has been monitored for almost a month, including with the use of technical means – a tracker to determine its location. tried to cover up the crime by burning his clothes. After the murder, the criminal activity of the accused continued.
In addition to instigating and aiding and abetting the murder, the former NSO officer was prosecuted for possession of drugs and ammunition, as well as for participating in an organized criminal group for drug distribution.
In the course of the investigation, more than 50 witnesses were questioned, an investigative experiment and numerous expert examinations were performed – forensic, computer-technical, physico-chemical examinations, etc.
For premeditated murder committed for profit and with means dangerous to the lives of many, the law provides for a sentence of “imprisonment” of 15 to 20 years, life imprisonment or life imprisonment without parole.
The Military Court in Sofia is about to schedule the case for consideration.
