And out! Makhmud Muradov must leave the Czech Republic

The OKTAGON 60 tournament is coming up already on Saturday, which will take place in Oberhausen, Germany. A few weeks later, the OKTAGON 61 tournament in Brno will follow, which promises to be an exciting spectacle, as one of the stars of the whole organization was supposed to return.

On the program are more fights within the million pyramid, but also the long-awaited return of Makhmud Muradov, who will face Scott Askham. Unfortunately, however, news has recently appeared that may complicate Muradov’s return considerably.

Makhmud Muradov, one of the most famous MMA fighters operating in the Czech Republic, once again found himself in a very unpleasant situation. The Ministry of the Interior has decided that Muradov poses a security risk for the Czech Republic, due to his alleged ties to the criminal environment. This decision was supported by information from the police, and has now been confirmed by the court, which dismissed Muradov’s lawsuit against the ministry’s decision. This news was brought today by the server Aktualne.cz.

Muradov, who gained international fame thanks to his appearances in the prestigious American UFC, now has his main training camp in Prague’s Holešovice. However, now he will have to leave the Czech Republic, which may have a significant impact on his career. Mach fought for the right to temporary residence as a family member of a citizen of the European Union, because he has a child with a Czech citizen. However, the Department of Asylum and Migration Policy refused him this permit in May on the grounds that he could disturb public order.

Although Muradov can return to the Czech Republic, his presence will be limited on the basis of a visa that will allow him to stay in the country for only 90 days in six months. This limited stay could seriously disrupt his preparations for further matches under the OKTAGON banner. How it will be concretely with the match in Brno is still uncertain, because it is likely that Muradov will have to leave the Czech Republic before the planned tournament.

After the recent court decision, which definitively rejected his request for temporary residence, Muradov found himself in a situation where he will have to adapt his activities in the Czech Republic to the new conditions. His further work on the Czech MMA scene is now shrouded in question marks, and fans are impatiently waiting for further developments. Anyway, his absence from the Octagon would be a big loss.
