Simple, with no bright accents and a strong touch of minimalism, yet dazzling with its naturalness and truthfulness, this is the Monolithoi House, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea in southern Greece.

My peninsula in Greece is recognizable with its architecture – On the island next to each other columns of homogeneous rectangular stone houses on one or two floors. Some of the buildings were built several centuries ago by the inhabitants of the peninsula, and about half of the homes are still inhabited. Abandoned and dilapidated houses, surrounded by wild olive trees and thorny bushes, can also be seen in the area.

The traditions started by the inhabitants of the peninsula – the shape of houses and stone as the main building material – are still practiced to create a unified architectural style that is characteristic of Greece as a whole. The 240-square-meter “Monolithoi House”, which shines in minimalism and is similar in appearance, which, although similar in appearance to the surrounding ancient buildings, hides modern modernity, according to the Uncrate portal. The house consists of two stone monoliths and is divided into two wings – one wing of the house is formed on two floors, the other on one.
The house blends naturally with the wild and harsh environment, and it is just as modest inside. The interior design is neutral and unobtrusive, with minimalism and a preference for mainly natural materials. Both the furniture and the blinds and window openings are made of wood, and most of the walls are decorated with uncovered stone walls.
To invite you to enjoy the beautiful landscape outside the walls of the house, there are lounge chairs in the yard, a special corner for meditation and an “infinity” pool, creating the optical illusion that water is flowing over the edge.
