Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti raised concerns about the possibility of Meringue star Karim Benzema joining Liverpool in the Champions League, after he confirmed that he hoped the player would join this confrontation.
Real Madrid will meet Liverpool at Anfield, on Tuesday, February 21, in the first leg of the 16th round of the Champions League.
Ancelotti said in the press conference for the Real Madrid-Osasuna meeting, which is scheduled to be held tomorrow, Saturday, in the Spanish League: “The victory over Osasuna will be done with commitment and challenge. It will be a key moment in the season, and it is time to continue the good dynamics.”
Regarding Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos’ position on catching up with the meeting, Carlo said: “Benzema is a little tired and we hope he will be ready for Tuesday’s match against Liverpool. Kroos suffers from the flu and will not participate tomorrow either.”
And he continued, “We have to continue to appear better and return to achieving positive results. I am not worried about the idea of moving away from the top of the League, I focus on matches, nothing more.”
And he continued: “The match schedule is difficult, and there are important ones. Football has variables that occur in just one moment.”
Regarding facing Liverpool in the Champions League, Ancelotti said: “We know Liverpool very well, so we will devote 24 hours to Osasuna, because tomorrow is a very important match, and tomorrow’s formation could be the same at Anfield against Liverpool.”
On Modric, Carlo said: “He will be in the starting line-up tomorrow, and Rodrygo will also be a starter.”
