Coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed on Saturday the interest of the Brazilian football team in his engagement. However, he emphasized that he wants to fulfill his contract with Real Madrid.
Ancelotti said the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) wanted him to replace Tite as coach. He resigned after the elimination of “selecaa” in the quarter-finals of the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The team is temporarily led by Ramon Menezes.
“Yes, the reality is that the Brazilian national team wants me. I’m flattered, but I have to respect the contract that I want to finish,” Ancelotti said according to AFP. His contract in Madrid expires in June 2024.
The 63-year-old Italian coach said he is happy at Real, but nobody knows what could happen in the future. “In my case it’s quite simple. I have a contract and I want to keep it because I like Real” added Ancelotti. The “White Ballet” was in second place in La Liga before the weekend with a loss of 12 points to the leader Barcelona.
Ancelotti is one of the most successful coaches in history. He won four Champions League titles, two with AC Milan and two with Real. He triumphed in five of the most prestigious national European competitions (England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France).
He won his first coaching title in the 2003/2004 season, when he won the Scudetto in Italian Serie A with AC Milan. He triumphed in the English Premier League with FC Chelsea (2009/10), then led Paris Saint-Germain to victory in Ligue 1 (2012/13 ) and Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga (2016/17). Last year, he won the title with Real in La Liga. He never coached the national team, but he was an assistant coach for Italy in the 1990s.
